Duties:

Research & Development

  • Conduct research & development on new products and processes.

  • Design and synthesize new chemicals, study their properties, mechanisms of their action, and their applications, notably in sensors and energy.

Analysis

  • Analyze and characterize new products using various analytical techniques: UV-Vis, IR, HPLC, GC, TGA, MS, electrochemistry, etc.

  • Compile data and interpret the results of tests or experiments.

  • Write reports,  articles, and patents.

  • Submit articles/patents for publication in international journals/patent offices.

Supervision

  • Supervise students and teach them laboratory regulations and the use of instrumentation.

  • Check and prepare the material content/equipment before laboratory sessions.

  • Participate in the selection of specialized equipment, appliances, tools, machinery, and laboratory instruments.

  • Ensure maintenance and operation of equipment, clean, calibrate, adapt, repair defective devices, and make adjustments.

  • Communicates with companies/suppliers for information about available products and equipment.

Teaching 

  • Prepare, present lectures, and practical sessions.

  • Mentor, assist, inform, and advise students in their work.

  • Prepare and evaluate written/oral exams and student laboratory notebooks.

Recruitment

  • Advertise open positions, select, interview, and hire according to desired criteria.

Writing and editing

  • Write and edit research and development documents, including research papers, reviews, theses, news articles, user manuals, etc.
